Wolves v Liverpool – FA Cup Betting Guide: 7th Jan 2018

Monday 7th January 2019

We end the FA Cup third round action on Monday night with an all-Premier League clash as high-flying Liverpool make the trip to Wolves.

Yes, the current league form can often go out of the window in these Cup games but the bookmakers still feel this will be a fairly straight forward task for the Merseysiders, who are 1.90 in the 90 mins match betting market, with the draw 3.60 and Wolves 3.75.

While if you want the added security in case it’s a draw then Liverpool are on offer at 1.30 to qualify, with Wolves 3.40.

The sides met earlier this season in the league last month and with Liverpool winning that one 0-2 then this is another good sign for backers of the Reds here. A repeat of that score can be backed at 9.50.

We can expect a few team changes from both sides as clearly winning the title will be far more important for Liverpool – it was Mo Salah and Virgil Van Dijk who were on target for the Reds in the last meeting – Salah is on offer at 2.05 to score and Van Dijk 8.50, but – as mentioned – it might be better to wait on team news before getting stuck into the scoring markets.

The sides have met 6 times in this competition and are yet to draw. However, it’s Wolves that have the better record with 4 wins to Liverpool’s two.

4 of the last 5 head-to-heads went OVER 2.5 goals so at 1.72 there looks to be some value here, but it is worth noting that Wolves have NOT scored in their last four home games against Liverpool so another option might be Liverpool to win ‘to nil’ at 3.40.

However, Wolves have been in decent scoring form of late and with the FA Cup often seeing the form book turned on it’s head the safer call looks to stick with OVER 2.5 GOALS at 1.72.

BEST BET: OVER 2.5 GOALS @@ 1.72
