The final Grand Slam is beginning. What is certain is that two tennis players are the clear favorites. Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz are simply, this season, a class above the rest. It’s hard to expect anyone to spoil their plans. Alcaraz has won two out of the last three Grand Slams he participated in, and he reached the semifinals in one of them. Djokovic has won two out of three. At Wimbledon, he was defeated in the final, precisely by the Spanish ace. The Spaniard will defend the title he won last year, but Djokovic, after a break and not playing on the US soil, is highly motivated to dethrone the young champion and show that he is still ready to break records. Last week, they played a spectacular final in Cincinnati, and the spectators hope for another one in New York.

Their main rivals will be Medvedev, Tsitsipas, Sinner, Zverev. However, it seems that these mentioned players will only be able to threaten the top two seeds only if those two have a bad day. Nevertheless, it should be kept in mind that the US Open is full of surprises. Last year, only three players from the top 10 managed to reach the round of 16. Reaching the final stages shouldn’t be a problem for Djokovic and Alcaraz. When it comes to other players, anything is possible.

It’s certain that we can expect a mix of phenomenal moves, primarily the Spanish and Serbian magic, which will surely captivate New York after Melbourne, Paris, and London.
