One of the Premier League matches of the season this Sunday as the Champions Manchester City travel to Anfield to face Liverpool.
City are flying high in the league with their new signing Haaland having already netted an incredible 15 goals in the Premier League from their opening 9 games – City start this week in second with 23 points.
In contrast, Liverpool are struggling back in 10th at the beginning of week 10 and only have 10 points in the bag so you feel their season is over in terms of trying to win back their league title.
The match betting ahead of Sunday’s game sees City as the clear favourites, despite being the away side, at 1.75, with the Draw 4.20 and Liverpool 4.20.
They faced-off in the Community Shield at Wembley at the start of the season and Liverpool players will gain confidence knowing they won that 3-1, while the Reds actually have a pretty decent record over City in recent times.
Klopp’s men have lost only 4 of their last 21 vs City and just 1 of their last 22 homes games over the champions in all competitions – winning 5 of their last 8 home league games over them too.
If you fancy Liverpool to continue this form into this Sunday’s game, then maybe Liverpool/Draw in the ‘Double Chance’ market might appeal at 2.00.
The Merseysiders have also been pushed out to Evs to not make the ‘top four’ now this season, with plenty of ground to make up in the likes of City, Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea.
Back to this game, and with 7 of the last 8 meetings going OVER 2.5 Goals then this might appeal at 1.44, despite being short, or if you add another goal, then Over 3.5 Goals is on offer at 2.10.
Both sides have also scored in ALL of the last 10 meetings, so even at 1.50 this looks a good option for the weekend accas.
Of course, the scoring markets are dominated by Erling Haaland as 3.60 (1st) or 1.66 (anytime), with Liverpool’s Mo Salah, who hasn’t really got going this season at 8.00 (1st) or 3.10 (anytime).
Overall, it’s a game that on current form you expect City to win well – Liverpool are struggling and a defeat here will be the final nail in their league title coffin.
However, you can’t ignore the good record Liverpool have over City and they are sure to be up for a clash with the champions.
So, the safer bet looks to side with the goal markets, and despite short, the BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE @ 1.50 looks a solid option – Liverpool have scored in all of their last 6 vs City and it’s hard to not see the visitors getting at least one on the board too!
BEST BET: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE @ 1.50
