Chelsea v Manchester City 17:30(CET)

  • Last season’s repeat fixture ended, Chelsea 0-1 Man City
  • Met 156 times in the league before, Chelsea 62, Draws 39, Man City 55
  • 6 of the last 7 head-to-heads went UNDER 2.5 GOALS (all comps)
  • Both teams DIDN’T score in the last 7 head-to-heads (all comps)
  • Chelsea have lost just 5 of their last 13 home league games vs Man City
  • Man City have scored in 17 of their last 18 league games vs Chelsea
  • NO draws in the last 16 league head-to-heads
  • Chelsea have NOT scored in their last 6 vs Man City (all comps)
  • Alvarez (Man City) has scored in 3 of the last 4 head-to-heads (all comps)

Chelsea will be buzzing after their 4-1 away win over Spurs on Monday night and will be hoping to take that high to their next Premier League game as they welcome Man City to Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Last seasons this clash ended in a tight 0-1 away win for City as they marched onto their third title in-a-row, but the overall league head-to-heads favour Chelsea with 62 wins to City’s 55 (39 draws).

The match betting sees City as the big favourites though at 1.66, with the draw at 3.75 and Chelsea at 5.25 – probably one of the biggest prices they’ve been for a home match for some time.

It’s normally a matchup that doesn’t see many goals either with 6 of the last 7 going Under 2.5 Goals, which can be backed at 2.05.

While this is also backed up with BTTS (no) paying out in ALL of the last 7 and is on the table at 2.00.

In fact, it’s been a meeting that Chelsea have struggled to score in recent – with the Blues remarkably not scoring in any of their last six against City. You can back a either City to ‘win to nil’ at 3.00 or a City clean sheet at 2.50.

We’ve also not seen a draw in the last 16 league head-to-heads, so we tend to get a result here and one way to play this bet would be to delve into the ‘double chance’ market at 1.25 for either a City or Chelsea win.

Finally, looking at the scoring markets – Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson fired in a three-timer in their win over Spurs last Monday and can be backed at 9.00 to score the first goal or 4.00 anytime.

While with City’s Haaland having a few injury concerns at the moment, Alvarez could be their main man here. He’s had a good start to the season with seven goals in total and he’s also done well playing against Cheslea – scoring in 3 of the last 4 head-to-heads.

Alvarez can be backed at 6.50 (1st) or 3.00 (anytime).

Overall, it’s a game that City will be expected to win and keep up their pressure at the top of the table, but Chelsea will be full of confidence after their 4-1 win over Spurs, albeit against 9 men for much of the game, so the Under 2.5 Goals at 2.05 looks fair value – a bet that’s paid out in 86% of the last 7 matches.

BEST BET: UNDER 2.5 GOALS @ 2.05
