Premier League

Newcastle United v Leicester City 20:00

Next up for Newcastle United in their quest for a top four Premier League finish is a home clash on Monday night with struggling Leicester City.

At the start of play this weekend Newcastle are 3rd with 69 points and with a decent goal difference of +35, this might be like an extra point to the Magpies if it gets any tighter with the likes of Man Utd and Liverpool on their heels.

The Toon Army saw off Brighton 4-1 on Thursday night to keep their top four qualification in their own hands – next up is Leicester City on Monday night.

The Foxes have their own battle as they are starting this set of games second from bottom with just 30 points and in real danger of the drop.

Looking at the match betting, it’s no shock to see Newcastle at 2/5 with the draw 9/2 and Leicester on the table at 6/1.

The sides played earlier this season too and that ended in an easy 3-0 away win for Newcastle – a repeat of that can be backed at 10/1.

They’ve also played in the EFL Cup this term and that ended in a win for Newcastle too (2-0). Therefore, the Magpies have won their last two vs the Foxes ‘to nil’, so this might appeal at 6/4.

However, this clash has a habit of producing goals – with 7 of the last 8 going OVER 2.5 GOALS – and with both teams having something to play for we could be set for a lot of goalmouth action again.

3+ Goals is on offer at 1/2 , while if you think Newcastle might win comfortably again – both teams NOT to score at Evs might also appeal.

Finally, with Newcastle’s Joelinton scoring in both head-to-heads this season against Leicester the Magpie man might be worth a second look at 6/1 (1st) or 15/8 (anytime) in the scorers’ markets.
