Manchester City v Manchester United 17:30
How ironic that Man City could win the title if they get three points in their next game against bitter rivals – Man Utd.
Yes, a nice added sub-plot to this Saturday’s 5:30pm clash as City – who are 16 points clear of the pack – need just one more win to secure the 2017/18 Premier League title.
It goes without saying United will be keen to prolong the celebrations but City will also be very eager to get the job done and also in front of their own fans!
The match betting suggests they will too, with City 1.75, the Draw 3.75 and Man Utd 4.33.
City will be looking to add the league title to the League Cup that they’ve already lifted, while – don’t forget – they are also still in the Champions League.
United and City met at Old Trafford earlier this season and that ended Man Utd 1-2 Man City, while the repeat of this fixture last term ended 0-0 – if that happens again City will need more points in their next game to lift the title.
We also saw a RED CARD in this game last season so there could be some boil-over on that front but the call here is for a tight game.
Both teams DIDN’T score in 6 of the last 9 head-to-heads so at 2.00 this appeals but the Under 2.5 goal market might be the better option – also at 2.00. This bet has paid out in the last 3 repeat fixtures, while 4 of the last 6 head-to-heads have also seen less than 3 goals.
Yes, both teams have plenty of fire-power in front of goal with City’s Aguero having 21 league goals, while Lukaku is leading the way for United with 15. Aguero is a doubt though with a knee injury and didn’t feature in City’s midweek game at Liverpool. Lukaku is 8.00 to bag the game’s opening goal, or 3.20 anytime.
However, history suggests that when these sides meet we are generally in for a close game and with the added sub-plot of Man City needing a win to land the title then we can expect United to try and do all they can from trying to prevent that happening – with that in mind the Under 2.5 goals will be the main match bet.
Best Bet: UNDER 2.5 GOALS @2.00
