Everton v West Ham United 16:00
On Sunday we see struggling West Ham travel north to take on Everton at Goodison Park in a Premier League game you feel the Londoners must get something out of.
The Hammers are still looking for their first point of the new season and will come into ‘week five’ rock bottom of the league on zero points. They are now 3.25 to be relegated.
They take on an Everton side that have spent a lot of money over the summer and with 6 points from their opening four games have started ok – they sit 7th in the league and look likely to remain in that sort of area of the table all season. They are a side that won’t have the squad to challenge for the title, but also have more than enough class to avoid getting into a relegation scrap.
Last season’s repeat clash doesn’t bode well for West Ham though as Everton recorded an easy 4-0 win, while the Toffeemen have also lost just one of their last 10 home league games vs the Hammers!
The match betting looks like this – Everton 1.85, the draw 3.60, West Ham 4.00
We have seen two draws in the last 4 league head-to-heads, but it’s also worth pointing out that West Ham have NOT even scored in the last two repeat fixtures!
Both last season’s clashes produced 3 GOALS or more, while 3 of the last 4 repeat fixtures also saw OVER 2.5 GOALS – This is on offer at 1.80. Both teams have NOT scored in 3 of the last 4 too so at 2.05 this might also appeal.
However, with Everton having home advantage, plus also having a cracking recent record over the Hammers then we are not going to overcomplicate things here and simple side with an Everton win. The 1.85 on offer looks decent value to us and with all the pressure on West Ham to get a result after their dire start to the season then this give us further confidence of the Merseysiders continuing their fine recent record over the Londoners.
BEST BET: EVERTON TO WIN @1.85
