Chelsea v West Ham United 16:30

After losing for the first time at home in the Premier League to Spurs last weekend then Chelsea’s hopes of a top four finish are now looking very slim indeed.

The Blues come into this round of fixtures with 56 points in 5th, but that is 8pts off fourth-placed Spurs.

Chelsea are, however, still in the FA Cup semi-finals (21st April) so do have something to play for this season, but before they play that game they’ve got a home league clash with fellow Londoners West Ham to take in this Sunday.

The teams have already played this season and that finished West Ham 1-0 Chelsea but the repeat of this fixture last season ended Chelsea 2-1 West Ham.

Looking at the match betting we can see Chelsea as the 1.25 favourites, with the Draw 5.50 and West Ham as big as 12.00.

In fact, Chelsea haven’t lost in their last 11 home league games against West Ham and have not let a goal in from 4 of the last 6 of those – however, it is worth noting the Hammers have scored in all of their last 6 games vs Chelsea (home and away).

Chelsea’s Hazard and Morata are the joint-top league scorers this season with 11 goals each, while West Ham’s Arnautovic leads the way for the Hammers with 9 goals. Hazard is 1.72 anytime to score, Morata is 1.95, while Arnautovic is 4.33 to find the back of the net in the match.

However, with Chelsea possibly having their main focus on the FA Cup with little to play for in the league then West Ham might make things difficult for the current Premier League champions.

The Hammers are 14th and in need of a few more victories if they want to avoid getting dragged into a relegation battle. They scored 3 last weekend when beating Southampton so are finding their scoring feet again and I already mentioned they’ve netted in all of their last 6 vs Chelsea too.

Taking this into account the 2.05 on offer on BOTH TEAMS SCORING catches the eye. This bet has returned in 4 of the last 5 head-to-heads too (80%). Another option might also be OVER 2.5 GOALS, which also looks fair value at 2.35 – again this bet has rewarded backers in 4 of the last 5 meetings.

Best Bet: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE @ 2.05
