Chelsea v Newcastle United 13:30, BT Sport

This Sunday we’ve one of the few all Premier League FA Cup 4th Round encounters as Chelsea welcome Newcastle to Stamford Bridge.

If you fancy the Blues to go all the way in this competition then you might want to snap-up the 6.00 on them in the outright market before this match, while the same applies to Newcastle – if you think they can record a shock win here then the 67.00 on them in the FA Cup outright market will surely be gone come Monday morning.

It’s actually interesting that with 6 FA Cup wins, Newcastle currently sit 7th in the hall of fame, with Chelsea, who have recorded 7 FA Cup wins in their history, just behind them. Having said that, Newcastle’s last successes was way back in 1955, whereas Chelsea’s last was in 2012.

The two sides have played 11 times in the FA Cup and the current standings are fairly even with Chelsea on 5 wins, 3 draws and Newcastle having 3 victories.

Being they are both Premier League sides then they’ve also already met this season, and at Stamford Bridge too. That game finished Chelsea 3-1 Newcastle so it’s hardly a shock to see the Londoners at just 1.40 in the 90 mins match betting, with the draw 4.50 and Newcastle 8.00.

Chelsea head into the game off the back of a 4-0 win over Brighton last Saturday but before that game had been struggling for a few games to find the back of the net.

But, generally when they play Newcastle there are often goals. 5 of the last 6 clashes have seen OVER 2.5 GOALS, while the last three meetings even had 4+ goals.

Both teams have found the back of the net in 5 of the last 6 meetings so the 1.95 certainly stands out as a decent option. Yes, Newcastle are struggling in the league a bit at the moment, but will have nothing to lose here and can be expected to take a few risks – don’t forget, they managed to score against City last week too.

Chelsea’s Morata, with 10 league goals, is their top scorer this season, while Newcastle’s Joselu leads the way for the Toon Army.

However, for us, we’ll side with this game producing plenty of goals. With 83% of the last 6 head-to-heads having OVER 2.5 GOALS scored then the 1.75 doesn’t look bad value. If you think there might even be OVER 3.5 GOALS then you’ll be rewarded at an even better 2.75 – it’s up to you!
