Brighton & Hove Albion v Manchester United 20:00

If you’re old enough then you might remember Brighton and Man Utd meeting in the 1983 FA Cup Final – that actually needed a replay after a 2-2 draw, with United going on to win the second game 4-0 at Wembley.

They’ve only played five times since that FA Cup Final, including twice this season – both at Old Trafford, after also getting drawn against each other in the FA Cup this term.
United won both fixtures ‘to nil’ after a 2-0 win in the Cup and 1-0 win in the league so it’s no surprise to see the Red Devils as the clear favourites in the match betting at 1.66, the draw 3.75 and Brighton 5.00.

So, not really many recent head-to-heads to go on with their last meetings before this season coming in the 1992-93 season. It is, however, interesting that ALL of the last 5 head-to-heads went UNDER 2.5 GOALS, so at 1.95 there is a bit of appeal in this option.

United’s Lukaku leads the way for them in the league with 15 goals, while Brighton’s Glenn Murray is their main man in front of goal this league season with 12 goals.

We can expect Brighton to make it hard for United in front of their home fans and actually the Seagulls have done well at home. They’ve only lost 4 of their 18 games at home in the league with Liverpool, Chelsea, Man City and Leicester the only sides to beat them at the Amex Stadium.

Older Brighton fans might actually remind us that they’ve not lost their last two home games over United, but it’s worth noting these came in 1992 and 1982!

Brighton have, however, found it hard to score against United in recent clashes – they’ve managed just the one goal in their last 6 against the Red Devils. If we add in that 5 of the last 6 head-to-heads – including the two this season – saw both teams NOT score, then at 1.95 this is how we are going to play this game.

BEST BET: BOTH TEAMS ‘NOT’ TO SCORE @1.95
