Arsenal v Everton 17:30

Not a bad Premier League 5:30pm match to look forward to this Saturday as Arsenal, who are in desperate need for points, host Everton.

The Gunners come into the game off the back of a 3-1 away loss in midweek to Swansea and are now in a really desperate position in sixth place if they want to make one of the lucrative ‘top four’ places. They are one place behind Spurs, but 8 points adrift of Liverpool, who are in fourth, so you feel this is a ‘must win’ game for Wengers men if they want to get back in the top four race.

Everton have picked up in recent months and with Sam Allardyce at the helm now they should be fine from any danger. They sit in midtable and with around half the sides below them in the table then it would be a huge shock if they got relegated. They are currently 26.00 to face the drop.

Looking at the match betting and based on current form – don’t forget Arsenal were beaten in the FA Cup recently too – then it will be a brave punter that wades in on the Gunners at 1.28, with the draw 5.25 and Everton 10.00.

Ok, we can expect Arsenal to be popped into many a weekend accumulator, but having lost 3-1 to struggling Swansea in midweek then this is another potential banana skin for them to overcome.
That said, Arsenal to, in fact, have a decent record when playing Everton. The Gunners thumped them 5-2 at Goodison Park earlier this season, while this fixture saw them win 3-1 last term. A repeat of that 3-1 score line can be backed at 12.00.

Arsenal have also won 5 of their last 6 matches over Everton, have also scored in their last 7 when playing them and not tasted defeat in their last 21 home games over the Toffeemen.
Everton also only beaten Arsenal away in the Premier League once (1996), while that defeat was the only time the Gunners have lost at home in the league in their last 29 matches.
There have been 4 DRAWS in the last 11 clashes though so at 5.25 this option does look to have some value attached to it.

Another option in the associated markets might be for Both Teams To Score. 4 of the last 5 head-to-heads have gone this wat so the 2.00 (2nd fav) on offer on both sides finding the back of the net looks decent value.

However, for us the pick is OVER 2.5 GOALS. We landed the money in midweek on the Swansea v Arsenal game and with the Gunners leaking three goals in that game they clearly still have some issues at the back.  If we add in that 4 of the last 5 matches between Arsenal and Everton have also seen 3+ goals then this gives us a bit more confidence that his game will have plenty of goal-mouth action.

BEST BET: OVER 2.5 GOALS @1.60
