Dream Team – Volume II #4
In the United States, they are called the “Forgotten,” probably because they played in the sandwich between the other two Dream Teams, the original one from Barcelona ’92 and the one from Atlanta ’96. Two formidable teams and, in my opinion, the two best that Americans have ever sent to major competitions.
In the middle, the aces from the photograph got “stuck”, as well as their companions who are not in the photograph. It was the first Dream Team to appear at FIBA World Championships and should never be forgotten. 📚
These guys strolled to the title at the 1994 World Cup held in Canada. In every game, they scored over 100 points, except in the semifinals when they demolished Greece with a score of 97:58. In the final, they convincingly defeated Russia with a score of 137:91. The tournament MVP was Shaquille O’Neal. 🏆
Shaquille O’Neal, Dominique Wilkins, Mark Price, Alonzo Mourning, Dan Majerle, Shawn Kemp, Reggie Miller, Steve Smith, Derrick Coleman, Joe Dumars, Kevin Johnson, and Larry Johnson, coach Don Nelson – “The (Un) Forgotten.” 🏀
