A monster FA Cup 5th round clash on Friday night as English heavyweights Man City and Arsenal do battle at the Etihad.
City are the FA Cup outright favourites at 5/2, with Arsenal 9/1, but you feel a win here for the Gunners and the 14-times winners of this competition will shorten a load and probably be the new favourites.
The sides are also locked in a Premier League title race, but are actually yet to meet each other in the league – first up, for what will be a busy time for the two sides, is some FA Cup business.
City and Arsenal have met 5 times in the FA Cup before and it’s Arsenal with the bragging rights with 4 wins to just one for City, with the last matchup coming in the 2020 FA Cup Semi-final that The Gunners won 2-0.
However, Man City will have home advantage here and won their last match in front of their home fans 5-0 over the London side.
City have also won their last 10 games vs Arsenal and are unbeaten at home in their last 7 vs Arteta’s men.
The match betting for the game sees Man City at 8/11, the draw 16/5 and Arsenal at 10/3
Other betting options are that there are generally goals when the sides play – 11 of the last 14 head-to-heads went OVER 2.5 GOALS – this can be backed at 4/6, but, in contrast, both teams DIDN’T score in 8 of the last 11 clashes, which is on the table at 11/10.
City have actually won 7 of their 9 league head-to-heads vs Arsenal ‘to nil’, so even though the Gunners are scoring a lot of goals at the moment, this might appeal at 9/4.
Man City have also managed to score 2+ goals in 80% of their last 10 games vs Arsenal, so this can be backed at 4/6.
Looking at the scorers – no prizes for saying that City’s Haaland will be popular after scoring 30 goals (all comp) already for City. He’s on offer at 13/5 (1st) or 5/6 (anytime). Mahrez has also been having a good time of it in front of goal and is at 15/2 (1st) or 13/5 (anytime).
Arsenal’s scoring options lie with the in-form Nketiah, who scored two last weekend against Man Utd – he’s at 17/2 (1st) or 3/1 (anytime), while Saka at 11/1 (1st) or 4/1 (anytime) is another popular player in the Arsenal scoring markets at the moment.
Overall, it should be a great game. It will be one of the shocks of the season if the game ends 5-0 to City again – just like it did the last time the sides played at the Emirates – but we can expect goals and OVER 2.5 GOALS at 4/6 looks the way to play this one.
BEST BET: OVER 2.5 GOALS @ 4/6
