Fresh from beating Italy on Thursday night, next up for England in this first set of Euro 2024 qualifying matches is a home match against Ukraine on Sunday at Wembley.

Thanks to goals from Declan Rice and Harry Kane, England got their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign off to the perfect start with an away win in Italy – their first victory there since 1961!

With Italy their hardest group opponents, this has set the Three Lions up well to make the championships in Germany next summer.

Next up is Ukraine though on Sunday late afternoon as England look to make it 2-from-2 in these opening qualifying matches.

The sides have only met 8 times before, but it’s England that hold the bragging rights with 5 wins, 2 draws and just 1 defeat.

The FIFA World Rankings also see 21 places between the two teams and this is reflected in the match betting with England at 1/3, the draw 15/4 and Ukraine on offer at 10/1.

They last met back in 2021 at the Euro and England ran out the easy 4-0 winners there thanks to a brace from Harry Kane and goals from Maguire and Henderson.

In fact, Ukraine have only scored 1 goal in their last four vs England and the last time they beat the Three Lions was back in 2009 – and that was really only because goalie Rob Green got sent off in the 14th min.

Looking at the key head-to-head stats – both teams DIDN’T score in 4 of the last 5 meetings either, so this might appeal at 4/6 and the same amount went Under 2.5 Goals. This is on the table at 11/10.

England have also won 4 of their last 8 (50%) head-to-heads vs Ukraine ‘to nil’ so this is another option at Evs to look at.

Ukraine were last in action in a 0-0 draw with Scotland back in Sept, so may be the slightly more rusty than England, who played on Thursday over Italy. But, that said, Ukraine are still only lost 1 of their last 6 games heading into this.

Harry Kane, who haunted Ukraine the last time they played (scored 2), can be backed at 11/4 (1st) or 8/11 (anytime). Kane became England’s highest-ever scorer on Thursday night when he scored a penalty in their 2-1 over Italy – he’s now bagged 54 England goals.

With Grealish, Maddison and Saka at 8/1 (1st) or 12/5 (anytime) and Toney at 3/1 (1st) or 4/5 (anytime).

Overall, Ukraine will be one of the harder teams to face in their group C matches – but it’s still a game England will be expecting to win. The Three Lions also have home advantage – the 1/3 in the match betting looks a tad short, so the England ‘win to nil’ at Evs appeals.

BEST BET: ENGLAND TO ‘WIN TO NIL’ @ Evs
