The attention switches to the International scene in the footballing world this weekend, with several friendlies to take in – notably England hosting Switzerland at Wembley Stadium.

With England ranked fifth and Switzerland ranked twelfth in the FIFA rankings, then there isn’t much between the sides based on this, while the last time the sides met – in 2019 in the Nations League – this was reflected too with a 0-0 draw.

The nations have meet 25 times before though and it’s England that hold the clear advantage with 16 wins (6 draws) to only three wins for Switzerland – the last of which came back in 1981!

The match betting ahead of the game sees England at 1.72, the Draw 3.50 and Switzerland 5.00.

Of course, these Internationals can be tricky betting events – especially when two decent teams face off with managers often tinkering their sides and trying out new players – new players like Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi have been included this time.

The Three Lions have, however, never lost at home to Switzerland and seeing they also head into the game 20 games unbeaten, then everything points to a win for England.

In fact, Switzerland haven’t even scored in their last four games when playing England – you can back an England win ‘to nil’ at 2.62.

As mentioned, England come here in great order, but it’s worth noting that Switzerland are a useful outfit too and head into the game unbeaten in their last 10 matches.

Southgate’s England are scoring plenty of goals at the moment too – 4 of England’s last 6 matches saw OVER 3.5 GOALS, but a word of caution as 4 of Switzerland’s last 5 matches went Under 2.5 Goals and the last 4 head-to-heads between these nations also went Under 2.5 goals.

You can back Over 2.5 goals at 2.15, or Under 2.5 goals at 1.66.

Both teams DIDN’T score in the last 4 head-to-heads either and with this bet also paying out in 4 of Switzerland’s last 5 matches then it might appeal at 1.66.

Of, course team news will be key if playing the scoring markets, but England’s Harry Kane, who has 43 international goals, and Switzerland’s Shaqiri are men to have on your radar.

Overall, it’s another game both managers will get a chance to test a few players and new ideas and also give each other a stern test with strong opposition.

With that in mind, it’s a game to probably not get too involved in betting wise, but with Switzerland having not scored in their last four against England and the Three Lions also winning 13 of their last 18 games to nil, then the Under 2.5 goals option at 1.66 looks the way to go here.
