As we head into ‘week two’ in the Premier League we have to wait till Sunday late afternoon before we find a game that stands out as Chelsea welcome Tottenham for an all-London Derby. Both sides won their opening games with Chelsea seeing off Everton and Spurs coming from behind to get the better of Southampton.
The match betting here sees Chelsea as favourites at 2.25, with the Draw 3.40 and Spurs 3.20. Last season’s repeat clash ended in a comfortable 2-0 home win for Chelsea and a repeat of that is on offer at 12.00. In fact, Chelsea took 6 points of their fellow Londoners last season and Tottenham HAVEN’T (yes, have not!!) even scored in their last six vs the Blues!
You can back a Chelsea clean sheet at 3.00, which should tempt plenty in.
It’s generally a game with few goals though – backed up with 6 of the last 7 head-to-heads in all comps seeing UNDER 2.5 GOALS, you can back this at 1.90. And both teams DIDN’T score in the last 6 either, so this might be another option at 2.05.
Chelsea are unbeaten in their last 11 (all comps) vs Spurs and have lost only one of their last 30 home Premier League games vs Tottenham – we think it’s fair to say Spurs don’t like playing Chelsea! We have, however, seen 10 draws in the last 30.
Another option could be to side with Chelsea to win ‘to nil’ – this has paid out in 12 of the last 30 repeat fixtures and is on offer at 4.00.
The scoring markets are dominated by Harry Kane at 6.00 (1st) or 2.60 (anytime), while did you know? the last Spurs player to score a league goal against Chelsea was Son in 2018! You back him again at 8.00 (1st) or 3.25 (anytime).
Chelsea’s Broja is their lowest in the scoring markets at 7.00 (1st) or 2.87 (anytime), with Sterling 8.00 (1st) or 3.25 (anytime).
Overall, it’s a game that Spurs rarely win. They will, however, be full of confidence after last week’s 4-1 win over Southampton, but we’ll opt
for a tight game here and side with the UNDER 2.5 GOALS option at 1.90 – a bet that’s paid out in 86% of the last 7 clashes.
BEST BET: UNDER 2.5 GOALS @ 1.90
