Arsenal v Manchester United – FA Cup Betting Guide: 25th Jan 2018

Friday 25th January 2019
Fourth Round
Arsenal v Manchester United 19:55

It’s back to FA Cup action this weekend and we get going with a real cracker as Manchester United make the trip to Arsenal.

These top-flight heavyweights are well fancied in the outright betting, with Arsenal 13.00 and United on offer at 9.00 but those prices will, of course, vanish without trace for the team that progresses.

The ‘to qualify’ market sees United as the favourites at 1.70, while Arsenal are at 2.05 – so a very tight game expected.

Both also head here in good form after wins in the league last weekend and the match betting also reflects just what a tight call this is – Arsenal are on offer at 2.45, the Draw 3.50 and Man Utd 2.70.
The sides have met 15 times in this competition too and the head-to-head stats could not be much tighter with Arsenal having won 6 times, United 7 and 2 draws.

They last playing in the FA Cup in 2015 and that resulted in a 2-1 win to the Gunners, while they’ve already met in the league this season and then ended in a 2-2 draw at Old Trafford.
In fact, ALL of the last three head-to-heads went OVER 2.5 GOALS, so the 1.61 on this happening again is sure to be popular, while with both teams scoring in 5 of the last 6 clashes then the 1.53 on both sides finding the back of the net is another strong possibility.

It cold also pay to know United have lost just one of their last six games against Arsenal and they’ve also scored at least two goals in their last three against the Gunners.
Jesse Lingard has also been in rude scoring form when playing against Arsenal – he’s netted three times in the last three head-to-heads so it will certainly be worth checking the team news ahead of the game to see if he’s going to be involved from the start.

All-in-all a great game to get the FA Cup Fourth round action going but also a tough one to call. For us, United just edge it but with home advantage then the Gunners will certainly have their supporters too.

So the safer call looks to side with OVER 2.5 GOALS at 1.61 – something that, don’t forget, has paid out in 5 of the last 6 clashes and with both sides processing plenty of firepower up top then this should be a bet that gives us a good run for our money.

OVER 2.5 GOALS @1.61
