20 points separated Leicester and the Premier League champions, Manchester City, last season in the final table, so it’s no shock to see City as the 1.53 to lift the Community Shield, with Leicester City, who won the FA Cup, at 2.37.

This traditional season curtain raiser sees the Premier League winners take on the current FA Cup champions on Saturday 7th August and after a bit of a break since the Euros, football fans will be chomping at the bit for the action to get going again.

The 90mins match betting sees Man City at 2.00, with the draw 3.60 and Leicester as big as 3.50.

Last season the sides met twice in the league and it was honors shared with Leicester beating City 2-5 away, with City winning 0-2 on the road to Leicester.

City have won the Community Shield now six times, while Leicester’s only success in this event came in 1971.

As always, team news will be important in the build up to the game and there might be some key transfers for both sides by the time this match come around – most significantly, Harry Kane has been a hot target for City, so we’ll have to see if that happens before this Saturday’s game.

This is also a clash that’s generally seen goals too, with 7 of the last 11 head-to-heads seeing OVER 2.5 GOALS and also having both teams to score. 3+ goals can be backed at 1.72, with ‘Both Teams To Score’ at 1.61.

City have also won 4 of the last 5 head-to-heads and found the back of the net in ALL of their last 13 clashes against the Foxes. Plus, with only 1 DRAW in the last 16 league meetings, when these sides face each other, you tend to get a winner.

Overall, these games are not ones to get too heavily involved in with teams often treated it a bit like an early-season friendly, while this will be the first competitive game a lot of the players have played in for several weeks. But there it’s still a chance to get some early silverware in the cabinet and it’s hard to get away from Manchester City not adding their haul of six Community Shield wins.

The 2.00 in the 90 mins match betting looks fair value to us and even though the safer option might be to side with both teams to score or Over 2.5 Goals, we are going to keep this one simple and stick with City to win this game inside normal time.

BEST BET: MAN CITY TO WIN (90 mins) @2.00
